Man says he was robbed at gunpoint

A Greenwood man told police he was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday after being stranded on McLemore Street.
The man told police the incident happened right after midnight. He said his 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier had broken down on McLemore.

Drive-by shooting injures 3

Three people were injured in a drive-by shooting Sunday evening on Main Street.
Police Chief Terrence Craft said police responded to a call reporting shots fired at about 9:50 p.m. near the Chevron gas station.
He said witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored Dodge traveling away at a high speed.

CrimeStoppers has issued an alert from the Greenwood police to get information on a black sedan that a camera captured leaving the Vardaman Street area following a Monday afternoon shooting.

Alert issued for car seen leaving scene of shooting

Greenwood police issued a CrimeStoppers alert Monday night looking for a black sedan that was captured on video by a camera as it left the scene of a homicide Monday afternoon on Vardaman Street across from McLaurin Street Park.

2 men killed in US 82 wreck

Two Greenwood men were killed in an automobile accident early Saturday morning on U.S. 82 in Leflore County.
Leflore County Coroner Debra Sanders confirmed the deaths and said the accident appeared to be weather-related.
Sanders said that 54-year-old Willie Traylor and 32-year-old Frederick Washington Jr. died at the scene.
