Leflore boys unbeaten in region play

The Leflore County boys basketball team ran its record to 17-3 overall and 6-0 in Region 6-1A with a convincing 76-36 win at South Delta High School Thursday night.
The Tigers ran out to a 27-12 lead after first period and made it 52-22 by halftime. They stretched their advantage to 69-31 by the end of the third quarter.

He provided that observation Tuesday to explain his reaction to a prompt from the Mississippi High School Activities Association that tailgating no longer be allowed on school grounds.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
