Fourth teen arrested in connection with death of Grenada High's Ayden Reno

A fourth teenager has been arrested in connection with the death of Grenada High School junior and Chargers football player Ayden Reno, whose body was discovered early last week near a small city park.

Prep Track: J.Z. George boys, LC girls win region meets

The Leflore County girls and J.Z. George boys track teams captured first-place honors at their respective region meets held Thursday.
The Lady Tigers finished with 105 points in winning the Region 3-2A meet in Clarksdale. North Side was second with 84 points, and O’Bannon third with 48 points. Riverside was fourth with 15 points.

Korey Donte Moore

Services for Korey Donte Moore of Greenwood will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Moore, 35, died Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at his home.
He was a security guard.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Century Funeral Home.

Bulldogs find way to down Yazoo

When sophomore running back Eric Haslett went down with a serious leg injury trailing 6-2 late in the fourth quarter, Greenwood head coach Cary Weaver knew his team would rally.
Two plays later, senior fullback Jawuan Gideon finished off the drive Haslett started with a 13-yard touchdown run with 5:16 to go in the game.
