MVSU women, men host JSU

The Mississippi Valley State University women’s and men’s basketball teams host SWAC rival Jackson State at 3 and 5 p.m., respectively, at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex Saturday.
The Devilettes (4-16, 3-6) are coming off a 75-72 loss to Alcorn State Thursday night. Sydnei Marshall had 18 points, five rebounds and five steals.

Lawmakers on the Senate Highway and Transportation Committee approved the reappointment of Mississippi Department of Transportation Executive Director Brad White on Wednesday.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
