Greenwood High School’s Frederrick Ford can add the University of Miami to a growing list of colleges who are offering football scholarships to the 4-star linebacker.
Ford is a 6-foot-5, 190-pound senior-to-be at Greenwood and is expected to lead the Bulldogs defense this fall.

The J.Z. George High School girls and boys track teams competed at the Region 3-2A meet held Friday at Charleston High School.
The top four in each event qualify for the Super Regional 2A meet Thursday at Charleston High School.

The Greenwood Commonwealth expanded its newsroom in 2025 by adding Gerard Edic as a reporter covering public safety and other stories of interest to the community.

His position is partially funded by a two-year grant from Report for America, a national nonprofit. Generous supporters in the community donated the matching funds in the first year. We are now raising funds for Year 2.
