A judge indefinitely paused Greenwood Leflore Hospital’s repayments to the Mississippi Division of Medicaid in court on Wednesday. If the payments had been allowed to proceed as originally ordered by the state Medicaid division, the hospital would have faced closure. The pause gives hospital officials a chance to consider their options, including the negotiation of the lease, sale or transfer of the property to another hospital organization.
