Congratulations to our mayor, Carolyn McAdams, upon her being named president of the Mississippi Municipal League, an honor she well deserves.
Under Carolyn’s leadership, Greenwood has achieved great strides and has become the most prosperous and undoubtedly the prettiest city in the Mississippi Delta. I wish other towns in counties surrounding Leflore County could be so fortunate.

I would not want the position she has held over the past 12 to 13 years because it must be difficult, even though rewarding. It makes me think of that famous quote about not being able to please all the people all the time; yet that’s what a politician has to do.
I was also pleasantly surprised by her saying that at the time she was elected mayor, she didn’t know anything about being a mayor or a politician. That’s humility, for sure, as well as honesty, two traits sorely missed in most politicians.
Carolyn, thanks for all your long and hard work and dedication to helping make Greenwood “the” city of the Mississippi Delta. I hope you will continue in that work for our city.
