A Greenwood man in his mid-20s was taken to Greenwood Leflore Hospital following a shooting Tuesday at the Chevron gas station at the intersection of Main and Gibbs streets.
The victim was grazed in his right ankle by a bullet, according to Greenwood Police Chief Terrence Craft.
Around 2:30 p.m. the police received a report of shots fired at the gas station. At the scene, officers recovered multiple 9mm shell casings.
According to Craft, one man shot at another man he saw walking in the area because there had been an ongoing conflict between them.
Craft could not say whether the victim was an innocent bystander or the target of the shooting since the victim was not talking. No suspects had been apprehended as of Tuesday afternoon, the chief added.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old Greenwood man who was charged with shooting at a motor vehicle over the weekend has been released on bond.
Cedarious Moore, 603 Ave. L, allegedly shot at a man who had hit his girlfriend and inadvertently shot the car and window of an unoccupied Chevrolet Malibu, Craft said.
The incident took place at Avenue L and St. Charles Street Saturday night.
Moore was arrested and charged Monday but posted bail on a $5,000 bond later that day.
