A Greenwood man is in custody after allegedly shooting his girlfriend on Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Ricky Banks said Eugene McClung Jr., 29, 1018 Russell Avenue, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault.
Banks said deputies received a call at 1:30 a.m. at W.J. Bishop Apartments on Clay Street.
Banks said that McClung and his 45-year-old girlfriend were involved a domestic dispute that became violent.
According to Banks, the woman fled to her vehicle, and McClung began firing shots at her. Once in her vehicle, the woman realized she had been shot once in her right foot. She suffered no other injuries.
Banks said that a bond would be set for McClung within the next day.
