The Amanda Elzy defense stood up to the test by forcing five turnovers en route to an 8-6 win over Simmons High School Friday night in Hollandale.
The Panthers, a Class 3A school, had four fumble recoveries and one interception against the Blue Devils, a Class 1A school that played in the state title game last season.
