Ole Miss has released the contract information for basketball coach Kermit Davis.
The school announced just before it’s NCAA tournament game in Columbia, S.C., that Davis’ original contract was being extended and restructured.
Under the terms of the new agreement Davis will make $2,850,000 for the 2019-2020 season, up from $2,500,000 per season.
He will receive automatic pay increases of $100,000 per season capping out at 3,150,000 for the 2022-2023 season.
Davis’ incentives are slightly different in the new deal.
In the previous deal he would receive $50,000 for finishing in the SEC’s top four in the regular season and $150,000 for winning at least 12 regular season games.
Now Davis will receive $100,000 for finishing the top four — including a tie — with the mention of 12 regular season wins removed.
All other bonus opportunities remain the same as in the first deal.
This season Davis received an additional $50,000 for being named SEC coach of the year and another $50,000 for reaching the NCAA tournament.
Ole Miss has also extended the contract of women’s basketball coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin to the full four years allowed by state law.
In her first season as coach the Ole Miss women (9-22, 3-13 SEC) improved their conference win total by two games with a roster that was almost completely rebuilt.
Only four players from the 2017-2018 season returned for 2018-2019.
In addition, graduate transfer guard Crystal Allen was named second-team All-SEC, the first Ole Miss player to earn all-conference recognition in four years.
McPhee-McCuin’s new contract runs through 2023.
