Sandy Rhea Tackett and Gracie Turner combined to score 37 points as Carroll Academy knocked off District 1-AA foe Marshall Academy 43-36 Friday night in Holly Springs.
Tackett led the Lady Rebels with 21 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Turner tacked on 16 points and nine boards.
Carroll (13-11 overall, 4-2 in district) led 11-4 after one but Marshall pulled to within one at 18-17 by halftime. A 12-4 run in the third gave CA a 30–21 cushion headed to the fourth period.
Carroll is at district foe Oak Hill Academy tonight.
nGreenwood High: The Bulldogs got a banner game from freshman DeAndre Smith in beating Region 3-4A opponent Clarksdale 47-41 Friday night in Clarksdale.
Smith had 11 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and blocked two shots.
Quanterius Silas tacked on 10 points and seven rebounds for GHS (15-9 overall, 2-2 in Region 3).
Greenwood hosts Yazoo City Wednesday.
