The Pillow Academy boys soccer team defeated Greenville High School 5-0 Saturday in Greenville.
Sunjay Chawla scored three goals for the contest, giving him 17 goals through six games this year.
Jeffrey Bready opened the scoring 16 minutes into the contest when he coasted down the right side and took a shot from 15 yards out. It was Bready’s seventh goal for the year.
Chawla followed up with a quick shot off a fumble by the Hornet goalkeeper to give Pillow a 2-0 lead that they took into the half.
Following a handball in the box, Chawla kicked a penalty kick 10 minutes into the second half to give Pillow a 3-0 led. He later achieved a hat trick by taking a pass from Bready and scooting it by the goalkeeper.
Porter Spell closed out the scoring with a penalty kick late in the contest after Pillow’s Juan Carlos Hernandez was knocked down in the box, creating a penalty kick. For the contest, Pillow outshot Greenville 10-2, with goalkeepers Floyd Melton IV and Phillip Rustom combining on the shutout.
The Mustangs, now 4-1-1 on the season, open up league play Wednesday night versus Magnolia Heights Academy at home.
Then on Friday, Pillow travels to Greenville to play archrival Washington School in another North AAAA conference matchup.
