The Pillow Academy girls soccer team will host a State AAAA, Division II semifinal playoff match Thursday against East Rankin.
It is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. at Chazzy Moor Field on the PA campus.
Pillow (12-7) had a first-round bye after winning the North. East Rankin defeated Magnolia Heights 4-1 Tuesday in the first round of the playoffs.
Pillow defeated East Rankin 3-2 in Pelahatchie in the only regular-season meeting between the two schools.
“East Rankin has a fast offensive attack but, our girls are up for the challenge,” said PA interim head coach Chris Wilson. “They have worked hard all season and have prepared for this opportunity. They are focused and ready to play.”
If Pillow wins Thursday, it will host the state championship match Monday against the winner of the Lamar School-Oak Forest semifinal contest.
Lamar defeated PA twice in its two regular-season meetings, most recently 2-1 last week in Meridian.
Pillow is looking to capture its first girls soccer title since 2004.
