COLUMBUS — The Pillow Academy golf team struggled in the windy conditions here Tuesday during the Columbus Country Club Invitational.
PA finished with a score of 339 to take fourth place in the six-team event hosted by Heritage Academy.
Heritage won the tournament with a score of 324.
Magnolia Heights took second place at 331, and New Hope was next at 335.
Oak Hill finished fifth with a 341, followed by Starkville Academy at 345.
"We knew it was going to be a tough day with the conditions, but this was as tough a day to play golf as we have seen this year. The wind just carried the ball all over the place for these kids," PA coach Randy Bensley said. "It just makes it difficult to get comfortable over your shots, which was evident with only three scores in the 70's."
Anthony Ola provided the low round for Pillow with an 83.
Kathleen Gallagher shot 84, Lou Adams 85, Steve Pannell and Jackson Pannell 87 and Thomas Gallagher 91.
"All of our players hit some great shots, but we all had those holes where the ball ended up in some places that made it very difficult to score," Bensley said.
The Pillow B-team also participated in the tournament posting a score of 371.
Sam Henry Farmer led the way with a 90, followed by Cooper Dunn at 91, Kristen Stephens at 94, Dillon Ussery Dillon Ussery at 96, Brandon Schroeder at 103 and Raines Cook at 116.
