The Pillow Academy girls and boys basketball teams are off to matching 2-0 marks in North AAAA, Division II play.
The Mustangs won a thriller, 53-49, Tuesday at archrival Washington School in Greenville to move to 6-11 overall.
PA outscored the Generals by four points in the second half to get the win. Shane Houston Stephens had a team-high 12 points, followed by Cole Tyler with 11, Breck Bolin nine and Josh Moor eight.
In the girls, the Lady Mustangs dominated from start to finish in a 55-18 rout, improving to 16-3, 0-2. They led 20-1 after the first period and 31-9 at the half.
Kaylee Jones got a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Caroline Brock and Sarah Presley Howard had 11 points each for Pillow.
In junior high action, the PA girls blasted Washington 45-16 to move to 14-1. Howard pumped in a game-high 18 points.
The Pillow junior high boys won 53-17 to up their record to 10-6.
Hayes Bennett led the way with 13 points, followed by Nelson Hodges with eight and Drew Lamb seven.
Pillow hosts Hartfield Academy tonight and then Indianola Academy on Friday.
