LSU pitcher Louis Coleman couldn't outrun five Tiger errors last Saturday as he suffered just his second loss on the mound this season.
Despite the loss, Coleman had another outstanding performance, throwing 71/3 innings while allowing only three earned runs and striking out a career-high 11 batters.
The former Pillow Academy standout's 8-2 record is still by far tops in the Southeastern Conference. His ERA of 2.54 also ranks him first in the SEC.
Coleman has worked 501/3 innings while allowing just 48 hits. He has 80 strikeouts - the second most in the league behind teammate Anthony Ranaudo's 83 - while giving up just 15 walks.
Opponents are batting .214 against him.
LSU had won nine straight league series since April of last season before dropping two of three to Tennessee last weekend.
Losing the series to UT kept the Tigers from being in first place in the SEC Western Division. Arkansas is in first at 11-6, while LSU and Ole Miss are tied for second a half-game back at 11-7.
