Carroll Academy opened a busy week on the hardcourt with a pair of wins on the road Monday night at Tri-County Academy in Flora.
The Rebels picked up their first win of the season as they edged Tri-County 43-41 behind the strong play of forward/center Reese Fulton, who had 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Teammate Logan Taylor tacked on 13 points for the Rebels (1-2).
In the girls game, Carroll moved to 5-3 with a 51-47 win over the Lady Rebels of Tri-County. CA led 14-6 after the first frame, 27-22 at the half and 43-37 after the third period.
Belle Sanders led the Lady Rebels with 18 points, six rebounds and six steals. Sara Austin Welch had nine points, and Sandy Rhea Tackett tacked on eight points.
Carroll hosted Canton Academy Tuesday night and entertains Winston Academy Thursday.

The schedule for today has the Winona High girls and boys playing Kosciusko at 4 and 5:30. At 7 and 8:30, J.Z. George takes on the girls and boys from Ethel High School.
Thursday, Ethel and Winona play the first two games at 4 and 5:30, and J.Z. George battles Kosciusko at 7 and 8:30. Saturday, Kosciusko and Ethel play the first two games at 4 and 5:30, and J.Z. George and Winona close out the tournament at 7 and 8:30.
