The basketball games involving the three schools in the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District had their games postponed Tuesday and will be played Wednesday, weather permitting.
Greenwood is slated to visit Clarksdale, and Amanda Elzy is on the road at Winona High School. Leflore County is hosting Riverside.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the games will be played Thursday, according to Clinton Gatewood, chief of athletics in the GLCSD.
Also, the Pillow Academy boys and the Carroll Academy girls and boys had their games altered by the weather.
The Mustangs will play Bayou Academy Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. in the first round of the District 1-5A Tournament, which is being held in Cleveland. A victory over the Colts and Pillow would play top-seeded Heritage Friday at 7:45 p.m. in the semifinals.
The Lady Mustangs, the No. 1 seed, will play Friday at 4 p.m. against the winner of Wednesday’s contest between Starkville and Magnolia Heights.
Carroll’s regular-season finale at Regents School of Oxford was canceled and will not be made up. The Lady Rebels and Rebels play Friday in the semifinals of the District 2-4A Tournament at Winona Christian School.
The girls take on Central Holmes at 4 p.m., and the boys play Greenville St. Joe at 5:15 p.m.
Delta Streets Academy opens play in the District 3-3A Tournament Thursday at 7:45 p.m. against Porter’s Chapel. The tournament is being played at Benton Academy.
