The Carroll Academy junior high track teams competed in the District 2-AAA meet Tuesday at Canton Academy.
The boys finished second with 50 1/2 points, and the girls were fifth with 23 points. Central Holmes won both the boys and girls divisions with 137 and 90 points, respectively.
Collin Hurst had a good day for the CA boys as he was second in the long jump (16-05) and triple jump (34-00) and third in the 100 dash (12.89). Layton Alderman was third in the 3200 run in 16:33.83, and Carter Jones was fourth in 16:48.85. Landon Turner finished third in the shot put in 36-06, and Ryder Dowdle was sixth in the 28-08.
Gage Ray placed third in the 110 hurdles in 22.04 and fifth in the 300 hurdles in 51.44. Bryce Campbell was fifth in the 110 hurdles in 23.35 and fifth in the 200 dash in 29.30.
Eli Prestage was fifth in the triple jump in 27-05, and Landon Grantham was fifth in the discus in 84-10.
Walker Shaw got a fourth in the 800 run in 3:01.68. Ethan Lebo was fourth and John Germany fifth in the 1600 run in 7:49.39 and 8:35.24, respectively.
The 4x100 team was second in 53.36, and the 4x200 team was third in 1:52.87. The 4x800 team came in third in 12:00.30, and the 4x400 team was second in 4:15.85.
Bella Carter had the lone first-place finish for Carroll in the girls shot put with a throw of 27-06. Teammate Piper Hall was fifth in 21-03. Madelyn Singleton was fifth in the 800 run in 3:19.17, and Lexi McClain was sixth in 3:23.12. Hartlee Walker was third in the discus throw in 63-03, and Carter was sixth in 56-03.
Mia Wood was sixth in the triple jump in 23-01 and seventh in the long jump in 11-11.
Audrey Woods tied Wood in the long jump at 11-11. Sadie Grones placed eighth in the 100 dash in 15.26 and sixth in the 200 dash in 31.78.
Carley Beth Bullard was sixth in the 1600 run in 7:08.02, and Carlie Hoover was sixth in the 400 dash in 1:14.08.
The 4x400 relay was fourth in 13:00.76, and the 4x200 team was fourth in 2:06.66. The 4x400 team came in second in 5:06.69.
