The Pillow Academy girls basketball team rode its full-court press and fast-paced offense to a 68-40 rout of Heritage Academy on Thursday night.
Senior guard Sarah Presley Howard led the Lady Mustangs (10-3) with 17 points and three steals while her younger sister, sophomore forward Avery Howard, was right behind her with 15 points and six steals.
Senior guard Madeline Mattox added 11 points and three assists. Senior guard Georgia Caroline Self pitched in nine points and four rebounds, and sophomore guard Elise Howard had seven points and three assists.
Pillow led 15-6 after the first quarter, 30-17 at halftime and 47-28 after the third quarter.
The visiting Lady Patriots (10-3) had only lost two games entering the matchup.
In the junior varsity girls game, Pillow cruised past Heritage, 46-13.
The Lady Mustangs improved to 9-2 on the season behind 12 points from Alanna Hodo.
Skyler Phillips added eight points and four boards while Addison Weems tallied six points.
Pillow returns to action on Monday when the Lady Mustangs look to make it four in a row at Lee Academy. Tipoff for the varsity girls matchup is set for 6:30 p.m.
