The number of students and staff at schools throughout Carroll and Leflore counties who have either tested positive for COVID-19 or have had to quarantine due to exposure continues to remain low compared to numbers earlier this year, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s latest aggregate school COVID-19 report released Tuesday.
At least 55 area students had had to quarantine the week of Oct. 11-15, and no staff members were reported to have had to quarantine, according to the report.
Meanwhile, at least five students and one staff member tested positive last week.
Four private schools in the area — Carroll Academy, Delta Streets Academy, Leflore Christian School and Pillow Academy — have not had any of their COVID-19 data appear in any of the state Department of Health’s reports this semester, including the most recent report.
