After playing two games over the weekend at the Carroll Academy Tournament, Pillow and Carroll met once again on the diamond in a girls fast-pitch softball contest Monday in Carrollton.
Carroll avenged two losses on Saturday with a 14-11 victory to improve to 9-9 overall.
The Lady Rebels plated two runs in the first, three in the second and nine in the fourth. They led 14-6 after four innings as Pillow scored three runs each in the first and second frames. The Lady Mustangs (12-9) tacked on two runs each in the fifth and sixth innings, and one in the seventh.
Peyton Perry got the win in the circle for Carroll. She also had two singles and an RBI.
Sophomore Bella Carter led Carroll at the plate with a single, double and home run. She drove in four runs and scored one. Junior Meri Brynn Reeves had a single, double and triple, and scored four runs and drove in two runs.
Presley Woods had two singles and scored one run, and Alana Garrett had a triple, scored twice and had three RBIs. Helen Claire Cobb and Shelbi Laine Kelly had a single, RBI and scored one run each, and Mary Braxton Cobb had a single and scored two runs. Lexi McClain had a single and scored one run.
JB Garrett took the loss in the circle as she went 32/3 innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits, walking five and fanning four. Rivers Carroll worked the final 21/3 innings, yielding six runs on six hits, walking one and striking out one.
Anna Grace Rice had a single, double and triple while also driving in four runs and scoring three times. Carroll had two singles and a double and scored once, and Brennan Neal had two singles and a triple and scored one run.
Garrett had a double, home run, drove in four runs and scored one run, while Emma Claire Tanner had a single, double and two RBIs. Ann Rogers Crowder had two singles and scored two runs, and Kylee Nix had an RBI double. Izzy Hodges had a single and scored twice, and Grace Tackett had a single and scored a run.
Carroll will conclude its game with Central Holmes on Monday.
Pillow plays host to Starkville on Thursday.
