Mr. and Mrs. Benny Windham of Carrollton announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Amber Michelle Windham, to Jeffrey Dowing Garrett of Ocean Springs.
The prospective bridegroom is son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Garrett of Pearl.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Windham of Grenada and the late Mrs. Shirley Gilbert and the late Robert Gilbert.
She is a 2003 graduate of Carroll Academy and a 2011 graduate of Delta State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in child development. She is employed as a preschool teacher with Mississippi Action for Progress in Bay St. Louis-Waveland.
The bride-groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Virgil D. Garrett and the late Perry Bounds and Faye Bounds of Pearl.
He is a 1999 graduate of Pearl High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in history. He is also a 2012 graduate of William Carey University, where he received a master’s degree in secondary education. He is employed as a history teacher and assistant football and baseball coach with the Ocean Springs School District.
The couple will exchange vows on July 27 in Gulf Shores, Ala. The couple plan to reside in Ocean Springs.
