Joe and Gloria Ward of Grenada announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Victoria Ward, to Paten Vincent McDaniel of Coila.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Janet Blaylock of Winona and Mr. Vincent McDaniel of Greenwood. He is the grandson of Dorsey and Nancy McDaniel of Greenwood and Edna Christopher of Carrollton.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joe Baragona of Biloxi, Billy Ward and Mary Ward, both of Grenada, and the late Lynn Taylor.
Miss Ward is a 2010 honors graduate of Grenada High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received a bachelor’s degree in biological forensic science.
While at Southern Miss, she was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, where she held many positions. She was also a member of the Forensic Science Society.
Mr. McDaniel is a 2009 graduate of North New Summit School and a 2012 graduate of the Mississippi State Fire Academy.
He is a member of the Mississippi Fire Academy and the International Association of Firefighters. He is employed at the Flowood Fire Department in Flowood.
The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m. on May 14 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada. A reception will follow at First & Green on the Square.
