Shelley Cresswell Thomas and John Paul Walker of Greenwood would like to announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. James L. Cresswell Sr. of Satartia.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul F. Walker of Minter City.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Tri-County Academy in Flora and Mississippi State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in educational psychology and a Master of Science degree in student affairs and higher education and counselor education.
She was a member of Leadership Greenwood 2015 and is a member of the Greenwood Rotary Club, was selected The Greenwood Commonwealth's Top 30 Under 40 and is a member of the board of directors for the Greenwood Boys & Girls Club, the Museum of the Mississippi Delta and Main Street Greenwood.
She is employed as the executive director of the Greenwood Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Mr. Walker is a graduate of Pillow Academy and Mississippi State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and public relations.
He was a member of Leadership Greenwood 2015 and is a member of the Greenwood Exchange Club, is a member of the board of directors of the Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce and Twin Rivers Recreation Club, was selected The Greenwood Commonwealth's Top 30 Under 40 and serves on the Mississippi State University Alumni National Board of Directors.
He is employed as an independent insurance broker specializing in insurance product marketing and sales.
The couple will exchange vows during a family ceremony on Jan. 23 at Monmouth Historic Inn in Natchez.
