Mr. and Mrs. Shane Lee Stephens of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Kelsey Carol Stephens, to Stephen Joseph Lirette of Waynesboro.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Joseph Lirette of Waynesboro.
His paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson J. Lirette. His maternal grandparents are Willie J. Taylor of Waynesboro and the late Joseph S. Taylor.
The bride-elect’s maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Barry L. Richardson Sr. of Portageville, Missouri. Her paternal grandparents are Janice Stephens Cook of Ridgeland and the late Gene L. Stephens.
Miss Stephens is a 2010 graduate of Pillow Academy, where she was salutatorian of her class. In 2014, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
While at Ole Miss she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.
She attends the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in Jackson and will graduate in May, receiving a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Miss Stephens is a member of the Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
She was a member of Rho Chi Honor Society in 2015 and was the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Wal-Mart Scholars Program recipient in 2016.
She served as the president of the University of Mississippi American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
In 2014, she received the University of Mississippi Helping Hand Award, and she received the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy Service Award in 2015.
Miss Stephens is employed as a pharmacy intern at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Mr. Lirette is a 2007 graduate of Wayne County High School, where he was salutatorian of his class. He attended Jones County Junior College, where he was a member of the 2008 baseball team.
He is a 2011 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. In 2014, he received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.
In 2015, he completed a pharmacy practice residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He became a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist in 2016.
Mr. Lirette is employed as a clinical instructor at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.
The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on March 25 at First Baptist Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Steve Parten will officiate. A reception will follow at The Greenwood Country Club.
