Thomas and Amy Spade of Homewood, Alabama, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Megan Elizabeth Spade, to James Michael Williams of Starkville.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Jay and Anita Williams of North Carrollton.
He is the grandson of Mrs. James B. Williams Jr. of North Carrollton and the late Mr. James B. Williams Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Reed of Anchorage, Alaska.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. W.H. Talbot of New Orleans and the late Mr. Talbot and Mrs. Robert D. Spade of Austin, Texas, and the late Mr. Spade.
Miss Spade is a graduate of Homewood High School and Mississippi State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in geosciences with a concentration in meteorology.
She is a graduate school student at Mississippi State, where she is employed as a graduate assistant.
At Mississippi State, she is a member of the East Mississippi Chapter of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society, Phi Kappa Phi and Society of Scholars.
Mr. Williams is a graduate of Carroll Academy and Mississippi State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. He is a graduate student at Mississippi State University, where he is a member of Chi Epsilon and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He received his Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and is employed as a graduate research assistant with the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Mississippi State and the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems.
The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on June 17 at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Starkville.
Chaplain Laurence Wainwright-Maks will officiate.
A reception will follow at the Hotel Chester.
