Willie C. Sims of Itta Bena and Pearl White of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristen Denise Sims, to Marvin Ledell Gholston of Winona.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Richard Campbell and Martha Gholston of Winona.
He is the grandson of the late Willie Mae Burt.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Louise Powell Landfair of Itta Bena and the late John H. Landfair and Willie C. Sims of Chicago.
Miss Sims is a 2004 graduate of Greenwood High School. She is employed at Golden Age Nursing Home.
Mr. Gholston is a 2003 graduate of Montgomery High School. He is employed at Hankins Lumber Company.
The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m. on Aug. 23 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the Confederate Memorial Building.
A special invitation is extended to Greenwood High School classes of 2004 and 2005 and Montgomery High School Class of 2003.
