Mr. and Mrs. Wallace "Danny" Downs of Carrollton announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Shelley Jo Shaw, to James Glenn Ricks of Carrollton.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jarrett of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy "Bo" Ricks of Carrollton.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Jones of Carrollton and Mr. and Mrs. James E. Ricks of Carrollton.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tate of Coila and Mr. and Mrs. John "Skeet" Kendrick of Winona and the late Hardy Sanders and the late B.T. Shaw.
Miss Shaw is a 2007 graduate of Carroll Academy and a 2013 graduate of Holmes Community College, where she received an associate’s degree in nursing. She is employed at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Mr. Ricks is a 2005 graduate of Carroll Academy. He is employed at Helmerich & Payne Drilling.
The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 5 at Seldom Seen Farm, located on 1282 County Rd. 282 in Carrollton.
