Patricia Perry of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Perry Jr. of Cleveland announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Presley Katlyn Perry, to Dwight Lee Allen Elkins Jr. of Greenville.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Melanie Elkins and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Elkins Sr., all of Greenville.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Huddleston of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goodwin of Colwich, Kansas, and Angela Elkins of Huntsville, Alabama, and the late Timothy Elkins.
He is the great-grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Max Barlow of Fruita, Colorado; Ann Elkins of Huntsville, Alabama; and the late Thomas Elkins.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Perry Sr. of Cleveland and Marilyn Carver and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carver, all of Greenwood. She is the great-granddaughter of Well Perry of Cleveland and the late Ray Perry.
Miss Perry is a 2010 graduate of Pillow Academy and a 2012 graduate of Mississippi Delta Community College, where she received an associate’s degree. While at MDCC, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
She attends Delta State University, where she is studying elementary education. She is a member of the Delta State Dean’s List and is president of the Delta Scholars.
She is employed at Pillow Academy as a junior high school assistant dance sponsor.
Mr. Elkins is a 2010 graduate of Washington School in Greenville and a 2012 graduate of Mississippi Delta Community College, where he received an associate’s degree. While at MDCC, he was a member of the school’s baseball team. He is a student at Delta State University, where he is majoring in physical education and teaching. At Delta State, he is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
He is employed at Premier Sports in Cleveland.
The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the home of Bill Henderson and Judge Campbell. A reception will follow.
