Mickey and Lucy Page of Itta Bena will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on May 16, 2016.
The couple met while both were attending Mississippi Valley State University. They now have five children — Gary LaMar, Jennifer Renee, Mickesha Loretta, Mickey LeGarian and Deante Coats.
Mr. Page is an elder with the Church of God in Christ and pastors New Hope Church of God In Christ located in Indianola. He is also very active in his community.
Mrs. Page served as an educator for almost 30 years in both the public and private school systems, and she currently assists at Leflore County High School when needed.
The couple say that their love has survived through their faith in God, continual communication, learning to laugh during the bad times and being each other’s best friend.
