Luevenia Little of Itta Bena announces the engagement and upcoming wedding of her daughter, Carol Little McClung of Itta Bena, to Walter Lee Atkins Jr. of Sunflower.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Walter Atkins Sr. of Brighton, Mass. and the late Willie Pearl.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Harris Sr. of Marks.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Lovell Little.
She is the granddaughter of the late Ruby Winston.
Miss McClung is a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where she earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
She is employed by the Leflore County School system. She works at Leflore County Elementary School.
Mr. Atkins a graduate of Alcorn State University, where he earned a master’s of science.
He is employed by the Leland School Park.
The prospective bridegroom is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
The couple will exchange vows at 4 p.m. May 29, 2010, at First United Baptist Church in Moorhead.
The Rev. Herman Cole will officiate at the wedding.
A reception will follow the ceremony at the Annie Mae Strong King Community Center.
A special invitation is extended to the Leflore County High School class of 1980.
