Clarence Sullivan and Beverly Sullivan of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Ashley Bertha Sullivan of Greenwood, to Carvey O'Neal Patterson of Magnolia.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of the Rev. Howard and Mrs. Clara P. Franklin of Brookhaven.
He is the grandson of the late Willie and Mary Patterson.
The bride-elect is a 2005 honors graduate of Greenwood High School. She is a 2010 graduate of Jackson State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in history.
Mr. Patterson is a 2004 graduate of North Pike High School and a 2008 graduate of Jackson State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology.
In 2010, he graduated with a master's degree in biology from Jackson State University.
He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
The couple will exchange vows at 3:30 p.m. July 17, 2010, at Richland Community Center in Richland.
Dr. Charles Holbrook will officiate at the wedding. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
