Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sereno of Bluffton, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Sereno, to Charles Halton Wood Thomson.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Thomson of Savannah, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Norris of Pensacola, Fla.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Wood Jr. of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thomson of Dallas, Texas.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sereno and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tagge of Williamsport, Pa.
Miss Sereno graduated from Loyalsock Township High School in Williamsport, Pa.
She is a 2007 magna cum laude graduate of Milligan College in Johnson City, Tenn., having majored in accounting.
At Milligan she was a member of the varsity soccer team.
She is employed as an accountant with Wade & Associates, LLC in Bluffton.
Mr. Thomson graduated from Richmond Hill High School in Richmond Hill, Ga., and is a 2012 graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University of Georgia, with a major in History.
He graduated magna cum laude, served as editor of the University’s History Review Journal and was the recipient of the Daughters of the American Colonists award and the Common Read Essay Contest.
He is involved with Christian youth ministries in the Savannah area.
The couple will exchange vows on the beach at sunset on August 3, 2012, on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.
They will be at home in Savannah after honeymooning in Jamaica.
