The Rev. and Mrs. Charles Eugene Poole of Jackson announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Maria Michelle Poole, to James David Madden.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Marianna Kennedy Madden of Greenwood and the late David Dodson Madden.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Joseph Kennedy and Mrs. James Leo Madden of Forest and the late Mr. James Leo Madden.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Daniel Smith Jr. of Augusta, Ga., the late Olif Hubert Poole and Mr. and Mrs. Patterson Henry Knowles of Eatonton, Ga.
Miss Poole is a 2003 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School.
She graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
The bride-elect earned a master’s degree in professional counseling from the University of Georgia.
She is employed by Region 8 Mental Health, where she is a school crisis therapist.
Mr. Madden is a 2003 graduate of Pillow Academy.
He graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
The prospective bridegroom earned a master’s degree in accounting from Millsaps College.
He is an associate at KPMG, LLP.
The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2009, at Northminister Baptist Church in Jackson.
A reception will follow at The Capital Club.
