Callie Virginia Pittman and Kendol Patrick Collins, both of Brandon, were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. July 25, 2009, during a candlelight ceremony at North Greenwood Baptist Church.
The Rev. Jim Phillips of Greenwood officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Bruce Pittman of Coila.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Earl Wright Pittman of Sunflower and the late Mr. Pittman and Mrs. James Hamilton Stowers of Itta Bena and the late Mr. Stowers.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Kendol Collins.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Fredrich Becker of Fayetteville, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Kendol Collins.
Nuptial music was provided by Patricia Etheridge. Kay Stowers, aunt of the bride, sang an acoustic version of “Amazing Love.”
Leslie Ann Clement of Memphis read Scripture from 1st Corinthians.
Sarah Duncan, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Allison Beckham of Newport Beach, Calif., served as the registry attendants.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Alencon lace gown with a V-shaped halter neckline edged with scalloped lace surrounding the hemline and chapel length train. Completing the bride’s ensemble, was a veil of silk illusion edged with Alencon lace and beading, also worn by her sister.
The bride wore diamond and pearl earrings given by her sister and a pearl necklace, which was a gift from the groom.
The bride’s bouquet was a cascade design with white and green roses, raspberry gerbera daisies and Italian ruscus.
Ann-Hamilton Lloyd, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Eleanor Wright Pittman, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Meagan Goss Counts, Mary Katherine Horton, Anna Miller Makamson and Michaelle Maxwell Staples, all of Greenwood; Mallory Nichole Jackson and Mary Kathryn Russell of Brandon; Crystal Lee Fleming and Kathleen Hughes Lassandrello of Memphis; Elizabeth Anne Kalich and Meagan Rae Mitchell of Nashville, Tenn.; and Kaylis Claire Byrnes of Little Rock, Ark.
They carried a hand-tied nosegay of raspberry gerbera daisies tied with green and raspberry swiss polka dot ribbon. They wore strapless apple green floor-length gowns with fuschia satin sashes.
Program attendants were Lexie, Lindsay, Mary-Hamel and Makenzie Funderburk, all of Coila.
Jessica Marie Platz of Starkville served as the bride’s proxy.
Susan Margaret Mitchell and Milla Logan Pace, cousins of the groom, served as flower girls.
James Kendol Collins, father of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Matthew Becker Collins, brother of the groom, and Stephen Carby Everett, both of Madison; Austin Frances Adcock, Robert Tyler Garth, Jeffery Ryan Lloyd and Benjamin Rodgers Russell, all of Brandon; Jon Koehler Bibb of Tunica; Walton Adams Dixon of Greenville; Hunter James McKinley of Hazlehurst; John Hunter Taylor of Sinnatobia; John Bradley Collins of Memphis; and John Colin Mullis of Nashville, Tenn.
Ushers were Walter Carl Cummins Jr. of Canton; Thomas Luke Yeatman of Madison; Cason Farrell Short of McCrory, Ark.; and Phillip Gray Silva of Memphis.
Jackson Boyce Mitchell, cousin of the groom, served as ring bearer.
Following the wedding, the guests gathered for a reception at the Greenwood Elks Lodge.
The bride’s table was decorated with pictures of the bride and groom, tea lights and a McCarty punch bowl.
The three-tiered butter cream cake was green and fuschia polka dot and was decorated with raspberry gerbera daisies and surrounded by the bridesmaids bouquets.
The main food table was centered with a large garden lantern positioned in a garden of Italian ruscus, belles of Ireland, white roses and white Fugi mums.
McCarty vases with raspberry gerbera daisies, white roses and green roses decorated the guest tables.
In the bar area, the groom’s table was a Mississippi State theme. Three cheesecakes, on McCarty platters, spelled out MSU, along with pom pons and pictures of the bride and groom at various Mississippi State events.
Cake and punch was served by Brittney Rae Cox of Greenwood and Elizabeth Claire Wiygul of Columbus, both cousins of the bride.
The bride’s cake was provided by Pat Ellis of Indianola and the groom’s cheesecakes were provided by Three Sisters and a Mixer of Flowood.
The flower arrangements were designed by Danny Kelly of Bella Flora in Greenwood.
Guests also enjoyed an abundant variety of dinner selections catered by Patty Long of Belzoni and danced the night away to the band Back 40.
Kae King of Collierville, Tenn., cousin of the bride, served as wedding director.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Delta Bistro.
That day, a bridesmaid’s brunch hosted by some of the bride’s closest family members was held at What’s Cooking.
Following the honeymoon at the Riu Palace in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple resides in Brandon.
Several parties and showers were hosted by friends and family of the bride and groom in Brandon, Greenwood and Madison.
