Mr. and Mrs. Gary Eugene Phillips Sr. of Black Hawk announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Jessica Leigh Phillips, to Nathaniel Post Sturdivant.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Roger Sturdivant of Minter City.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Louis Post Jr. of Greenwood and the late Mr. Louis Post and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sturdivant.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Betty McAllen of Augusta, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Carter Phillips of Black Hawl.
Miss Phillips is a graduate of Mississippi Delta Community College, where she earned an associate’s degree in culinary arts.
She is employed by Nola in Indianola, where she is a chef.
Mr. Sturdivant is a graduate of Pillow Academy and attended Delta State University.
He is employed by K and D in Cleveland.
The couple will exchange vows May 1, 2010 on the beach at Dauphin Island, Ala.
A reception will follow at Dauphin Surf Club.
After a honeymoon in Destin, Fla., the couple will reside at Futaw Plantation in Minter City.
