Nancy and Scott Mason of Tchula announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kiara Shante Moore, to Marvin Henry Doty.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Vera-Doty Jones of Jackson and Marshall Lacy of Tchula.
Miss Moore is a graduate of S.V. Marshall High School in Lexington. She earned her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in education from Jackson State University.
She teaches mathematics at S.V. Marshall High School.
Mr. Doty is a graduate of S.V. Marshall High School. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army for eight years.
He is employed as a plumber at Upchurch Plumbing in Jackson.
The couple will exchange vows in June.
