Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hughes Sr. of Tchula announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Laquita Ranee, to Jonathan David Melton of Greenwood.
The prospective bride-groom is the son of David Melton of Greenwood and Shirley Melton of Grenada.
The bride-elect is a 1997 graduate of Central Holmes Christian School in Lexington and Delta State University where she earned a bachelor’s of fine arts degree in graphic design.
She is a customer service representative at Viking Range Corp. in Greenwood.
Mr. Melton attended Greenwood High School.
He is a service technician for Pure Air in Greenwood.
The couple will exchange vows at 2 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2011, at Crossway Ministries in Greenwood.
