Lynette Jordan of Lexington announces the engagement and upcoming marriage of her daughter, Joanna Leigh Howard of Starkville, to Prentiss Cortez McLaurin III of Starkville.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Prentiss Cortez McLaurin Jr. of Starkville.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Prentiss Cortez McLaurin and Doris Beery Perry of Philadelphia and the late Allen Glenn Perry.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Patricia Jordan of Lexington and the late Lynn Jordan.
Miss Howard is a 2003 graduate of Central Holmes Christian School in Lexington. She attended Holmes Community College and East Mississippi Community College.
She is employed as the accounts payable clerk for the city of Starkville, working in the office of the city clerk.
Mr. McLaurin is a 2001 graduate of Starkville High School. He received an associate's degree from East Mississippi Community College, where he was a member of the EMCC baseball team. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mississippi State University.
The prospective bridegroom works as an information technology analyst for MetroCast-Mississippi, home-based in the Starkville area office.
The couple will exchange vows at a private ceremony with their immediate family and celebrate with a reception Aug. 21, 2010, in Pensacola Beach, Fla.
