Mr. and Mrs. William Turner Bryant Jr. of Greenwood, and Mr. James Clayton Harper of Bentonville, Ark. announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Harper, to Mark Dewitt McConnell.
Mr. McConnell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Albritton of West Monroe, La., and the late Mr. Brian McConnell.
Miss Harper is the granddaughter of Mr. Albert Shoffner of Greenville, the late Mrs. Lee Staten, the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Harper and Mr. and Mrs. William Turner Bryant Sr. of Fairview, Tenn.
Mr. McConnell is the grandson of Mrs. Marlene Abraham of West Monroe, the late Mr. Donald Chapman, the late Mr. and Mrs. Massey D. McConnell and Mr. and Mrs. Troy Albritton of Downsville, La.
The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Pillow Academy.
In 2010, she received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University.
She is employed by Sudduth Elementary School in Starkville.
The prospective bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of West Monroe High School in West Monroe.
In 2007, he graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor of science degree.
In 2011, he received his master’s degree in wildlife science at Mississippi State University, where he is currently employed with the College of Forest Resource.
He is seeking a doctorate degree.
The couple will exchange vows at 2 pm on Nov. 19, 2011, at Prairie Wildlife in West Point.
A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony.
