Caroline McMullan Evans and Florent de Gantès, both of Cambridge, Mass., exchanged vows at 6 p.m. Dec. 29, 2009, at Chapel of Christ Church Cathedral in New Orleans.
The Rev. Arnold A. Bush of Birmingham, Ala., officiated at the double-ring, candlelight service.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. S R Evans Jr. of Greenwood.
She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. S R Evans and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Wilkinson.
The bridegroom is the son of Madame Jocelyne de Gantès of Grenoble, France, and Monsieur Antoine de Gantès of La Seyne sur Mer, France.
He is the grandson of the late Monsieur and Madame Robert Larue de Charlus and the late Monsieur and Madame François de Gantès.
Given in marriage by her father, Dr. S R Evans Jr., the bride wore an ivory silk dress with a portrait neckline, shirred bodice and a draped skirt that fell into a chapel train. The cascade-cut Illusion veil was edged with ribbon.
Claire Evans of Nashville, Tenn., sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.
She wore a two-piece red ensemble with a fitted bodice with contour straps and a floor-length, A-line skirt.
Honorary bridesmaids were Amy Evans of Morganton, N.C., sister-in-law of bride; Sylvaine de Gantès, sister of groom; Kate Bennett of Boston, Mass.; Betsy Sanders of Memphis; Rebecca Rogers of New Orleans; and Katie Geisshuesler.
Mary Ella Evans of Morganton, N.C., niece of bride, served as the flower girl.
Antoine de Gantès, father of groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Guillaume de Gantès of New York, brother of groom; Aymeric de Gantès of Paris, France, brother of groom; Dr. S R Evans III of Morganton, N.C., brother of bride; and Heiki Rusama of Helsinki, Finland.
The wedding reception was held at Muriel’s Jackson Square in New Orleans.
Following their honeymoon to Brazil, the couple is at home in Cambridge, Mass., where the bride attends Harvard Business School and the groom attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Business.
