James and Aliene Downs of Coila announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Courtney Galey Downs of Greenwood, to James Lee Stowers II of Greenwood.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Jamie and Elizabeth Stowers of Greenwood.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Flanagan of Greenwood and Joan Stowers of Greenwood and the late James Hamilton Stowers.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dan Downs of Greenwood and the late Betty Downs and Beaulah Galey of Coila and the late Henry “Buck” Galey.
Miss Downs is a 1998 graduate of Carroll Academy. She attended Mississippi Delta Community College.
She is employed by chiropractors Dr. Rick Murphree and Dr. Dottie Pernell.
Mr. Stowers is a 1998 graduate of Pillow Academy. He attended Mississippi Delta Community College.
The prospective bridegroom is a member of the Elk’s Lodge.
He is employed by Greenwood Utilities.
The couple will exchange vows at 5:30 p.m. April 24, 2010, at Mount Olive Baptist Church.
The Rev. Jody Wooten will officiate at the ceremony.
A reception will follow the wedding at the Elk’s Lodge in Greenwood.
