Shenika Meeks of Greenwood and La’Darrius Cerrone Crowder of Itta Bena announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Martha George of Greenwood and Johnny Meeks of St. Louis. She is the granddaughter of the late Nannie George and the late Charles Meeks.
Miss Meeks is a 2003 graduate of J.Z. George High School
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mary Hammond of Itta Bena and Willie Crowder of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is the grandson of the late Fred Lee Bell Sr. and Lela Bell Starks, Alberta Crowder and J.C. Hudson, all of Itta Bena.
Mr. Crowder is a 2001 graduate of Leflore County High School.
The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m. on Aug. 30 at Saints Rest Church of God in Christ, located at 101 College St. in Itta Bena.
A reception will follow at the Greenwood Community and Recreational Center, located at 600 Elm St. in Greenwood.
A special invitation is extended to the J.Z. George High School Class of 2003 and the Leflore County High School Class of 2001.
