Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy D. McNeer II of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Carter Elizabeth McNeer, to James Clayton Perry of Greenwood.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Wanda Ramage Perry and James William Perry, both of Black Hawk.
He is the grandson of Ida Lue Perry of Black Hawk, the late John Edwin Perry, the late Barbara Ann Ramage and the late Edward “Sonny” Clayton Ramage.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth R. Thompson Jr. of Greenwood and Jimmy Donald McNeer of Carrollton and the late Irene Downs McNeer.
Miss McNeer is a 2015 honors graduate of Winona Christian School and a 2019 cum laude graduate of Delta State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. While at Delta State, she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, where she held many roles, served as Pageant Board director, was a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Beta Beta Beta, served on the Student Alumni Association and served as vice president of the Student Nurses Association.
She is employed by Greenwood Leflore Hospital as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department.
Mr. Perry is a 2011 graduate of Carroll Academy. He graduated from Mississippi Delta Community College with honors and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He received two associate’s degrees from MDCC, drafting and design in 2014 and electronics technology in 2016.
He is employed by Milwaukee Tool as an engineer in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Department.
The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. on April 18 at North Greenwood Baptist Church in Greenwood.
A reception will follow at the Greenwood Country Club.
