Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy D. McNeer II of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kendyll Reed McNeer, to Austin Blake Douglas of Batesville.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Lee Douglas of Batesville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Horace Goforth of Batesville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Lee Douglas.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth R. Thompson Jr. of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie D. McNeer of Carrollton.
Miss McNeer is a 2013 honors graduate of Pillow Academy. She is currently attending Delta State University, where she is pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. At Delta State, Miss McNeer is an active member of Phi Mu Fraternity and serves as the 2015-2016 membership director. She served as the 2015-2016 vice president of the Delta State Student Nurses Association and is the 2016-2017 recipient of the Dr. Barbara Powell Memorial Scholarship. Reed is the 2015-2017 student director for the DSU Pageant Board and the 2015 historian for Delta State’s Student Alumni Association.
Mr. Douglas is a 2011 graduate of South Panola High School in Batesville. He attended Northwest Mississippi Community College and graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, with a Bachelor of Psychology degree. While in college, Mr. Douglas played college football. He received the following awards and honors during his football career: NJCAA All American, MACJC Northern Region MVP, two-time all-state player, 2012 All Region, Demon Deacon, Demon Team Captain, Southland All Conference 2014, Joe Delaney Bowl MVP, and Coach Jack Clayton Memorial Award and Scholarship. Mr. Douglas served as a 2014 FCA Huddle Leader.
The couple will exchange vows on Dec. 10 at North Greenwood Baptist Church. The Rev. Ricky Wheat and Mr. Randy Price will officiate the service. A reception will follow at the Viking Training Center.
