Stella Frances Malouf and Wilson Peeples Britt were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 5, 2013, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood.
The Rev. Gregory Plata and the Rev. Thomas Delaney officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Anthony Malouf of Greenwood. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Jess Andrew Pinkston Jr. of Greenwood, the late Mr. and Mrs. James Houston McAdoo and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex John Malouf.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tecumseh Britt III of Greenwood. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Tecumseh Britt Jr. of Minter City and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bell Crump of Schlater.
Nuptial music was provided by organist Dr. Ray Smithee and soloist Mrs. Edward Nonan Barnes.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory Chantilly lace sheath gown with a center front slit. Her waist was accented by a hand-beaded rhinestone and pearl belt. Her cathedral-length veil, encircled in lace, was a family heirloom of the aunt of the bride, Gay Malouf Tompkins. Her only jewelry was a pair of scalloped diamond drop earrings that belonged to her late maternal grandmother.
The bride carried a hand-tied ivory and white English garden bouquet of hydrangeas, ranunculus, David Austin garden roses, Eskimo roses and freesia. A special touch was the garter she wore that was made with lace and tulle by the groom’s paternal grandmother.
Attending the bride as her maid of honor was her sister, August Clair Malouf of Greenwood. Bridesmaids were Mary Key Britt of Greenwood; Spencer Carroll Leflore of Oxford; Hester Mobley Lowe of Oxford; Dora Lee Malouf of Austin, Texas; Georgia Hart Smith of Jackson; Carolyn Cox Wellborn of Greenwood; and Mary Reynolds Whites of Greenwood. The attendants wore taupe full-length flowing chiffon gowns with delicate ruffles lining the top of the bodice.
Isabelle Frances Finly of Charleston, S.C.; Mary Morris Williams of Dallas, Texas; and Anna Katherine Malouf of Austin, Texas; served as honorary bridesmaids.
Serving as flower girl was Avery Mae Malouf, cousin of the bride and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Cash Malouf of Ridgland.
Tecumseh Britt III served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Frederick Adron Belk of Minter City; Tecumseh Britt IV of Itta Bena; Hamilton Moss Brown of Jackson; Jonathan Tyler Cannon of Roanoke, Va.; Eric Samuel Goldberg of Conway, Ark.; Matthew Abide Malouf of Greenwood; and William Hunter Pridgen of Greenwood.
Parker Britt Jones of Natchez, Robert Abide Malouf of Oxford, James Cunningham Morgan IV of Morgan City, and Caleb Payne Whites of Greenwood served as ushers.
Serving as ring bearer was Norris Alexander Kelly, cousin of the bride and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Smith Kelly.
Scripture was read by Katherine Anne Brown, Suzanne Smith Barnette and Jeane Louise Stohldrier.
Cousins of the bride and groom serving as program attendants were Allison Dodd Kelly, Darby Alexandra Carr, Mary Peyton Barnette and Mary Lusco Long.
Shelby Claire Malouf and Buck Long served as wedding banner bearer and cross bearer.
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to a reception at the home of the bride hosted by the bride’s parents. Guests danced to the music of Party Planet from Memphis.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Greenwood.
After a wedding trip to the Commonwealth of Dominica in the West Indies, the couple is at home in Schlater, where the groom is employed by Jimmy Sanders Inc. and the bride is employed by Fred T. Neely & Company.
