Mr. and Mrs. George Ira Kuykendall Jr. of Collierville, Tenn., have announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Susan Rebecca Kuykendall, to Steven Wood Solomon.
Mr. Solomon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dean Solomon of Germantown, Tenn.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Earl Stewart and the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Earl Solomon, all of Indianola.
Miss Kuykendall is the granddaughter of Mrs. Charles Jackson Hammond Sr. of Germantown and Itta Bena and the late Mr. Hammond and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Ira Kuykendall Sr. of Memphis, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Collierville High School and Lambuth University, where she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. She received a master's degree in speech and language pathology from the University of Memphis.
She is employed by Germantown Speech and Hearing Clinic and Baptist Memorial Hospital.
The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Briarcrest Christian School and Mississippi State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
He is employed by ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as a philanthropic advisor.
The couple will exchange vows on April 12, 2008, at Germantown United Methodist Church.
A reception will be held following the ceremony at Opera Memphis.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Memphis.
