Ether and Willie Ware of Greenwood and Coy Lee Keys of Greenwood announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Deirdre Keys, to Charles Brownlee Jr. of Greenwood.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Flora Brownlee of Greenwood and the late Charles Brownlee Sr.
He is the grandson of Roberta Patrick of Mileston and the late Theolar Sutton and the late Mildred Randle and the late Willie Smith.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lucinda Brown of Grenada and the late Floyd Brown Jr. and the late Mary L. Keys and the late Woodrow Keys Sr.
Miss Keys is a 2004 honors graduate of Greenwood High School and a 2008 graduate of Jackson State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology with a concentration in electronics and airway systems. She is also a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University, where she received a master’s degree in teaching. She is enrolled at Arkansas State University and is working toward an educational specialist degree in educational leadership.
She is employed at Greenwood public schools as a fifth- and sixth-grade science and social studies teacher and as principal designee at W.C. Williams Elementary School.
Mr. Brownlee is a 2002 graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Jackson State University.
He is employed at the Greenwood Commonwealth as a pressman and pre-pressman.
The couple will exchange vows on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church No. 2.
Bishop Frederick Adams of Greater Restoration Revival Church will officiate.
A reception will follow at Leflore County Civic Center.
Friends and relatives of the couple are invited.
